The African leopard is the most successful and adaptable predator on earth. And, as Atlanta Jewelry Show attendees will find out during the August 9-11, 2008 edition, his tactics can help them in their own “hunt for excellence.”
(ATLANTA) – The African leopard is the most successful and adaptable predator on earth. And, as Atlanta Jewelry Show attendees will find out during the August 9-11, 2008 edition, his tactics can help them in their own “hunt for excellence.” Scheduled for Sunday, August 10 from 9-10:30 am, the keynote address, “The Hunt for Market Share!™ - Lessons from the African Leopard - Making & Keeping Clients, Customers and Profits In a Global Economy,” is just one of many creative, idea-packed programs comprising the full-scale SJTA U educational series.
Led by Kivi Bernhard, CEO and founder of Kivi International LLC, “The Hunt for Market Share” looks at some of the leopard’s special traits, including his intrinsic belief in himself and how that makes him the master of the solo hunt, and how that can be applied to today’s retail environment. Presented like nothing Atlanta Jewelry Show attendees have seen before, the program’s award-winning video footage, combined with Kivi’s international flare and gifted speaking style, will leave everyone roaring for more.
“As we attempt to master our own individual ‘hunt’ for excellence while building an effective and sustainable business, we must first learn to trust ourselves while simultaneously creating meaningful and significant relationships with our customers,” notes Bernhard.
During the program, Bernhard will infuse, motivate and empower attendees with a dose of P-PMS, Positive - Predatory Mind Set. It will lead you to yourself, allowing you to take precise inventory of your exact tooling and apparatus, to trust it and to take it with you into the global market place. This is critical, cutting-edge business and life thinking that has been incorporated into the MBA program of the renowned Coles School of Business, Kennesaw State University.
“We’re delighted to bring such a creative program to the show,” adds Carol Young, executive director, Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA), producers of the semi-annual Atlanta Jewelry Show. “When retailers walk away from our shows with fresh new ideas to take back to their stores, we’ve achieved our goal. With the outstanding line-up of speakers and topics we’re bringing together in August, we’re definitely arming retailers with practical tips and proven tools that they can quickly put to work in their stores – and see results.”
In addition to the keynote address, retailers can choose from an array of other programs listed below. Advance registration is suggested for the Lunch & Learn programs. To pre-register, call 800-241-0399 or 404-634-3434 or register online at www.atlantajewelryshow.com

Diamonds & Diamond Simulants. Hot Topics to Consider: Natural, Created, Enhanced and More
Speaker: Patrick Stout, C.G., appraiser and American Services Manager, A.G.S.
3:00-4:00 pm
It’s a changing world for retailers regarding diamonds and diamond simulants. While natural diamonds will always be a key component of your jewelry inventory, consumer attitudes on created diamonds, “conflict diamonds,” enhanced diamonds, colored diamonds and simulants such as synthetic moissanite, are affected by the fashion world and by information in the press. In this session, Patrick Stout provides some interesting insights on selling, both ethically and effectively, these different products; the technical aspects of these products; the pros and cons of selling enhanced and/or synthetic goods; and how to overcome objections and avoid the pitfalls of selling alternative merchandise. While these products might provide you with a way to expand your business and whether or not you decide to handle these types of merchandise in your store, you still need to know how to discuss them with your clients professionally, ethically and accurately.
