The American Gem Society® and Jewelers Mutual form historic partnership

(LAS VEGAS) - The American Gem Society® and Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company have announced a long-term partnership that is the first of its kind for both organizations.

This historic alliance provides Jewelers Mutual with an exclusive insurance endorsement from the American Gem Society. Jewelers Mutual, in turn, will serve as presenting sponsor of the American Gem Society Conclave®, a premier educational event for the jewelry industry. The sponsorship ensures ongoing support for the event beginning with the 2009 Conclave, held April 1-4 in Chicago.


 

The partnership also includes opportunities for American Gem Society members. Member retailers - even those not yet insured through Jewelers Mutual - can take JM University courses at no cost. Society members can also order Jewelers Mutual supplies for free, and with no shipping fees, to make the company's Personal Jewelry Insurance program available to their customers.

"We share the belief that education is the foundation of a successful, profitable business," said Ruth Batson, CEO and executive director of the American Gem Society. "So we are pleased to partner with Jewelers Mutual, and honored that they believe in the value of Conclave's educational program for the entire jewelry industry."

Patti Geolat, board chair and interim president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual, agreed.
