You’ve got questions
You haven’t been a jeweler very long if you haven’t asked yourself at least one of the following questions:
When is the right time to freshen up my store and showcases?
How do I get some of that free publicity I see my competitor getting?
Is my refiner giving me a fair shake?
What happens, if my employee, while driving her car to the bank with the store’s deposit, runs a personal errand on the way back, and gets into a serious accident that is her fault?
Should I pay for my employees to take advanced gem or sales training? What happens if they leave?
Should my high-end store offer wedding bands in contemporary metals?
The guy across the street wants to sell me his Rolex. He is kind of shady, so I’m not sure about the watch. How can I handle this?
My customer has lost his wedding band twice already. What could cause this, and in case it happens again, can I engrave inside, “If found, return to...”?
At the moment, there’s no I-phone app for these and all the other similar questions that keep many of us up at night. And your buddies who aren’t in the jewelry business probably don’t have the right answers either. So, where can you turn for expert opinions and analysis on just about any issue facing jewelers today?
I would turn to the members of The 24 Karat Club. The fifty or so members of The 24 Karat Club are all experts and leaders in their fields, have demonstrated a commitment to the jewelry industry through their distinguished careers and their considerable donations of time and money to industry causes, and have been admitted to membership based on their integrity, values and character. It is truly an amazing association of men and women who would be happy to share their insights and expertise.
So, now you are probably asking, where do I find these wonderful people who can solve all of my business problems? Naturally, you can find a directory of the members at the website: www.The24KaratClub.org.
But here’s an even better opportunity. Most of the members of The 24 Karat Club will be attending or exhibiting at the SJTA Atlanta Jewelry Show, March 2-4. Feel free to introduce yourself to any one of them, and don’t be shy about asking for a straight forward opinion on anything that interests you.
You’ll get an unbiased, honest answer from an industry expert. And, if your question is interesting enough, it may even lead to drinks at the bar at the end of the day! 24 Karat Club members have pledged their commitment to serve the jewelry industry - here’s your chance to put them to the test!
