Ruben Bindra, B&B Fine Gems, Inc., has been elected to serve a second term as President of the AGTA Board of Directors. Bindra has been very active with AGTA over the past 18 years. He first became a member in 1995 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2009 as a Director. Bindra has been a member of the Show Committee and the Spectrum Committee in years previous to his Presidency.
Bindra’s goals he set for his Presidency have had a big impact on the growth of AGTA, including increasing exposure and participation in the AGTA Spectrum Awards™ and working to ensure that people in the industry and the consumer are educated about what AGTA stands for and what type of quality and integrity AGTA members represent.
One of Bindra’s key points is why disclosure is so essential and how it strengthens AGTA as an organization, and helping to build a reputation for AGTA members as being the most prestigious and reliable source for buying and selling colored gemstones and cultured pearls. Under his Presidency, the AGTA has continued to grow as an organization both nationally and abroad.
The AGTA is an Association of natural colored gemstone and cultured pearl industry professionals, dedicated to promoting the natural colored gemstone trade. The Association pursues this mission through the combined use of educational programs, industry events and publicity to both the trade and consumer. For more information please visit www.AGTA.org.
