Furry Friends

Furry friends on the job: Baxter and Bob of John E Koller Jewelry Designs

Pets Koller Bob both

These little guys are Baxter, a long-haired Dachshund, and Bob, a rescue who is at least part wire-haired Terrier. Baxter is 12 years old and has been joining John Koller at John E Koller Jewelry Designs in Owasso, Oklahoma since he was 2. Bob is the “little brother” who was 1 1/2 when this shot was taken. John says customers stop by just to bring the boys treats, and occasionally he gets one too!

Furry friends on the job: Abel of Beall Jewelers

Pets Abel

This adorable Reverse Brindle Boxer is named Abel. Abel joins Christopher Beall at Beall Jewelers in Delavan, Wisconsin. This picture was taken last October when Abel was only nine weeks old. Abel is not a Shriner. He’s wearing the head gear to keep him from scratching his newly cropped ears. Chris says he takes him to work daily to keep him from tearing his house down while he’s home alone. Hope that’s working out well. As Abel grows and matures he’s sure to be a great asset to the store.

Furry friends on the job: Dakota from Vicki Lyn Michael’s Jewelers

Pets Dakota both

This is Dakota. Sadly, the 13-year-old Collie mix that worked at Vicki Lyn Michael’s Jewelers in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina crossed the rainbow bridge in February. Even though in her later years her hearing was slipping and she suffered from arthritis, Dakota gave every minute in the store her all. She loved people, but not other dogs. Dakota would join store owners Vicki and Michael Clayton, their son (also Michael) and Jacob at work where she was a great companion to the staff, customers and visiting sales reps. She will be dearly missed by all.

Furry friends on the job: Jordyn of First Class Diamonds & Jewelry

Pets Jordyn

This is Jordyn, the “furry daughter” of Joanne and Jim McGhee, owners of First Class Diamonds & Jewelry in Dothan, Alabama. The precious Maltese works as the store greeter. An avid fan of Alabama football, Jordyn loves to wear the team colors to work. She works every day except Football Saturdays when she’s occupied watching the games. I’d say Jordyn would be a great mascot for the Crimson Tide - but I’m guessing they’ll stick with the elephant.

Furry friends on the job: Ned from Southern and Mid-America Jewelry News

Pets Ned

Say hello to Ned. He is the 3-year-old Australian Shepherd of Chris Smith, publisher of Southern and Mid-America Jewelry News. While Ned drops in at the office from time to time, he generally works from home. We’d love to have Ned come in every day, but we’ve already got a full time office dog here (Holly, our very first Furry Friend on the Job) and the two of them together would be more dog than our office can handle. Ned does his best work in proof reading and quality control. Looks like he’s happy with the way this issue came out.

Furry friends on the job: Kujo at Jewels and More in Youngstown, Ohio

Pets Kujo

This is Kujo. Kujo is a Chocolate Lab/Pit Bull mix that goes to work every day with his human Raj Ingle at Jewels and More in Youngstown, Ohio. Gentle and well-mannered, Kujo is adored by Raj and his customers. Some customers drop by the store in the morning to bring him breakfast, kids ask if he can visit their home, he enthusiastically greets all who enter the store. Kujo is a true blessing to Raj who says, “I feel empty and alone” when Kujo is not around. The bond is so strong that Raj has been working to create jewelry that represents the unconditional love between a human and their dog. Raj is a lucky guy and Kujo is a lucky dog.

Furry friends on the job: Beau of David Barry Jewelers

Pets Beau both

Meet Beau. He’s the little mascot at David Barry Jewelers in Boynton Beach, Florida. Beau loves coming to work with his mom, store manager Nikki, everyday. Father and son store owners, Steve and Seth Frank love having him at the store greeting customers, peeking out the window, keeping the staff extra happy and just being the sweet baby he is. Seth’s kittens Ripley and Ziggy also come to the store but are mostly in the office. Ripley comes out when she wants to snuggle with her buddy. Beau and her have become best friends!
