Life After Beads

Speaker: James Porte, Porte Marketing Group

11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Room 103

While bead sales continue to provide opportunities and new customers for jewelers, the explosive sales trend that has captured the consumers’ hearts, emotions and wallets over the last 5 years, will likely either trend lower or simply become another jewelry category for retailers. Jewelers must recognize that as the excitement and uniqueness of this product category wanes, they must look to replace these lost sales with a greater emphasis on their core products: Bridal, diamonds, services, and others. What will be the next new category or product that will capture the consumers’ dollars is anyone’s guess, but rest assured, talented designers and creative manufacturers are working hard to come up with the next new item. James Porte’s entertaining and informative presentation will present cost-effective, measurable and trackable ways to build your business no matter what the economy does or no matter what product changes you will need to make in order to thrive in 2012.

Only through a strategic, customer management focus will you be able to build the emotional partnerships that lead to higher levels of loyalty and profitability. David will address topics including developing successful acquisition and retention strategies; price/value perceptions based on the in-store shopping experience; loyalty factors that keep customers coming back; building tangible and effective loyalty programs; and the benefits of customer segmentation in marketing and advertising.
