(ATLANTA) – Responding to continued demand from its regional retail audience, the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) will once again offer GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Lab classes in conjunction with the semi-annual Atlanta Jewelry Show at the Cobb Galleria Center, Atlanta, GA. Providing a mix of lecture and hands-on training in an action-oriented environment, the GIA Diamond Grading Lab Class will be offered during the March Show and the GIA Colored Stone Lab Class will be offered in August.
“We first offered the GIA Lab Classes during the August 2011 Atlanta Jewelry Show and the response was so favorable that we’ve been offering them ever since,” explains Carol Young, executive director, SJTA, producers and managers of the Atlanta Jewelry Show. “Ordinarily, a jeweler would need to travel to a GIA campus to have access to a Gemology Lab Class. By collaborating with such an important industry leader as GIA, we are able to provide an intensive training session to our attendees. Whether they are working to earn their GIA credentials or hoping to sharpen their gemological skills, these Lab Classes will help retailers gain the product knowledge and grading skills needed to buy inventory, build confidence and increase profits at their stores.”
The 2013 GIA Lab Class schedule at the Atlanta Jewelry Show includes:
