The boards of the Alabama and Georgia Jewelers Associations are delighted to announce the educational line up for their two-state convention, April 11-13.
For the sixth consecutive year, the states will co-host their annual convention. The convention returns to The Lodge & Spa at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia, the site of the first joint convention six years ago. This site is a luxury property managed by Marriott.
The weekend’s line-up includes education on both Saturday and Sunday. Among the featured speakers is Jim Ackerman, owner of Ascend Marketing. Ackerman has helped hundreds of jewelers achieve remarkable increases in revenues and profits from their marketing, advertising and sales processes. He is a well-known marketing speaker who surprises and delights audiences, and gets them “movin’ and groovin’” and enjoying themselves.
Jim’s topic for the convention is “Easily & Permanently ‘Genetically Engineer’ your Marketing for Ever-Increasing Success.” Ackerman describes his topic: “If you’re completely satisfied with the way things are in your business… the sales you’re generating, the profits you take home, the vacations you’re able to take, the confidence you have in your marketing, and the results you get for the money you’re spending on media, maybe you don’t need this session. For the rest of us mortals, good news! You can change easily, with only the willingness to do so.”
The process is simple. There are 5 key elements or “U-needs” one must have. You will receive all the details in this session along with great ideas for doubling, tripling, even quadrupling the response you get to your advertising, along with an action plan.
This hard-hitting, no-nonsense session of profit-proven, cash-generating principles, strategies and tactics isn’t for the faint of heart. But if you’re ready for serious change for the better in the marketing of your enterprise, join in for an exciting presentation like no other.
Also on the weekend’s line up is Shane Decker. Decker is president of Ex-Sell-Ence: Sales Academy. Shane’s sales secrets have been published in numerous trade publications. He has provided much sought-after sales training for more than 3,000 stores worldwide.
Decker’s topic for his Sunday sessions: “The Biggest Reasons Customers Leave Empty-Handed.” He has critiqued sales associates in action hundreds of times over the years, and says most sales associates simply do not know how to close a sale.
“Customers come into your store to be closed! So why do they receive only a ‘show & tell?’” Learn the answer! Shane will explain how to bring your closing ratio up, take your advertising costs down, and make your store more profitable. In addition, you will leave understanding the importance of tracking inventory, and how to calculate it. This is vital for business owners today.
Both states invite retail jewelers both in and out of state to plan to attend. Last year’s event had attendees zip-lining, bike riding and golfing on Saturday afternoon, as well as strolling the gardens and marveling at the butterflies. A banquet Saturday evening and the annual Presidents’ Luncheon Sunday round out a busy weekend. The hospitality suite offers an opportunity for fellowship and idea swapping in a relaxed atmosphere.
Also during the convention, both Alabama and Georgia Jewelers Associations host their annual Jewelry Design Competition. The Design Competition and awards will take place on Sunday, April 13th. All association members and their employees are invited to submit original designs in a variety of categories.
Both state associations are actively seeking sponsors for the annual event. Companies, service providers and individuals are all welcome to sponsor the event with a variety of sponsorship opportunities available from each state.
