Looks to carry momentum from 2013 attendance surge
(MIAMI BEACH, Fla.) - The Centurion South Beach Show will return to the iconic Ritz Carlton Miami Beach Hotel at One Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL, October 12-14, 2014 for what will be its fifth event serving jewelry retailers from the Caribbean, Central and South America, Florida and elsewhere in the USA.
The 2012 and 2013 Centurion South Beach Shows witnessed strong increases in retail store attendance. 2012 was up 38% to 105 stores and 2013 surged 62% to 170 stores.
“Our, concept is to offer better retailers in these regions an elegant show at a beautiful venue with more than 60 top-level designers and manufacturers,” said Howard Hauben, president.
“The timing is pre-Holiday and tourist season, yet just late enough to give retailers a high level of confidence in their purchases,” he added. “We also aim to keep Centurion South Beach both convenient and affordable for the exhibitor.”
The three-day Centurion South Beach Show, which features gourmet breakfasts and lunches, a cocktail party and free room nights for qualified buyers, is timed to coincide with the JIS Miami Beach Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center, located two blocks away. The web site located at www.centurionsouthbeach.com offers the most recent list of exhibitors, show hours and registration information.
Accolades from past shows:
“I believe Centurion South Beach is an up and coming show,” said Mark Motes, C.O.O. Albert Smyth Co., Timonium, MD and C.E.O. Bailey Banks and Biddle. “It’s as good a venue as Centurion Scottsdale,” he added. “A great group of vendors and a great group of retailers.”
“It was a great show! We worked with a new house, we worked with some houses we knew,” said Melva Grimaldo, Joyeux Mueller, Escazu, Costa Rica. “The Show itself was really nice. Not too big, which made it easier to work.
“Being near the JIS show was a convenience. I’ve been recommending it to my retail friends.”
“I attended the recent South Beach Show and bought mostly loose goods,” said Pash Daswani, Lucky Jewelers, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. “My schedule rotated around the Centurion South Beach Show; proximity to JIS was an added benefit,” he pointed out. “I’d return again for two reasons: One, it’s a personal show. Two, the venue; it’s not a huge show and you can actually work with people. And the food is great!”
“We attended the Centurion South Beach Show; it comes at a nice time of year,” noted John O’Rourke III, Montica, Coral Gables, FL. “It’s a few months prior to Christmas, so it’s a good time for fills-ins from the fine lines we carry,” he added. “We like that it’s an intimate setting. I prefer a smaller environment. It fits my needs for talking and planning. Often there are discussions that need to take place prior to purchasing and Centurion provides that opportunity.”
“The show was rewarding in the sense that Gem Platinum was able to reconnect with some old customers and meet a few new ones,” noted Jeffrey Post, Director, Gem Platinum/Jeffrey Daniels Unique Designs.
“Centurion South Beach was a fantastic show for Artistry,” said Cheryl McKay, Marketing Director, Artistry, Ltd. “The Ritz Carlton serves as a wonderful venue, and the Centurion team did a magnificent job filling the show with high quality buyers.”
“We fortunately had a record show at Centurion South Beach this year,” echoed Debbie Hakimian, VP Marketing, Doves. “We like the South Beach show because the environment is very intimate. The retailers who attend are serious buyers. It’s a terrific opportunity to mingle with retailers in a luxurious hotel environment and attract new business,” she added.
