JA New York gears up for Spring Show

Addition to show staff + co-location + new dates + easier access

(NEW YORK) - JA New York is pleased to announce an addition to their New York City-based team. Judy Karlin-Grant has been named Retailer Liaison of The JA New York Shows and will be responsible for spearheading the show’s Hosted Buyer Program, as well as serving as the main point of contact for all established and prospective retailers.

Identification of diamond treatments to be discussed at 2016 Mediterranean Gem and Jewellery Conference in Spain

The second in a series of annual Mediterranean conferences will take place at the AC Marriott in the heart of Valencia, Spain, May 7 - 9, 2016. Lectures will be offered by leading independent laboratory gemologists, diamond treatment producers and experts on a broad range of subjects, but especially topics that are of most concern and challenging to the jewelry industry. The theme of this conference will be on Diamond Treatments, and four experts will be discussing various related topics:

JSA to honor Jewelers Mutual Executive and Federal Agent at Annual Luncheon

JSA(NEW YORK) – The Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA) will host its Annual Luncheon at the Harmonie Club in New York on January 9, and will honor two individuals for outstanding assistance to the safety and security of the jewelry industry.

At the Luncheon JSA will present the 11th Annual Industry Service Award to David J. Sexton, Vice President for Loss Prevention Consulting at Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company. Sexton is one of the leading experts in the U.S. on loss prevention for jewelers, and serves on the Boards of JSA, Jewelers Vigilance Canada, and on the Security Systems Council of Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

WJA DIVA Design Competition names 2016 winners

(NEW YORK) - The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) has announced the winners of the 2016 WJA DIVA Design Competition, an annual contest founded in the late 1990s as a way to encourage women from all walks of life to express their creative voices through the medium of precious metals and gemstones. The competition is open to all women, whether or not they are employed in the jewelry industry and whether or not they possess any formal training.
