Santa Fe Symposium® registration opens Experts to share cutting-edge jewelry research & innovation May 19-22

Every year for the past 27 years, the Santa Fe Symposium® on jewelry technology becomes a magnet for jewelry professionals from around the world looking to build on their success. Throughout the 3½ days of this renowned conference, casters, manufacturers and entrepreneurs enjoy presentations on state-of-the-art techniques, new research, and the latest innovations in the jewelry industry. Each day, and well into the evening, opportunities abound to meet with colleagues, discuss ideas, and build professional networks. Registration is now open to attend the Symposium on May 19–22, 2013, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.


New ways for jewelers to learn at The SMART Jewelry Show Chicago

(CHICAGO) - The SMART Jewelry Show has announced several innovative education programs that are designed to help independent jewelry retailers learn new business ideas at the 2013 SMART Show, held at Chicago’s Navy Pier on April 13 - 15, 2013 (with the education conference beginning on April 12).

AGS expands the Conclave Tech Center

(LAS VEGAS) - One of the cornerstones of the American Gem Society’s (AGS) Conclave year after year has been the Tech Center, a mission control for disseminating information about AGS research and development. This year, the Society has expanded the Tech Center’s format, with a little help from AGS Labs (AGSL).

Alabama and Georgia Jewelers Associations announce return to Callaway Gardens for annual Convention

(ATLANTA) - For the fifth consecutive year, the states of Alabama and Georgia will co-host their annual Convention, this year convening the last weekend in April - the 26th through 28th.  The group’s return to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia, the site of the first joint Convention five years ago, is at The Lodge & Spa at Callaway Gardens, a luxury property managed by Marriott. The Lodge is nestled inside the beautiful 13,000 acre preserve, home to thousands of blooming azaleas, the Day Butterfly Center, featuring over 1,000 butterflies in a tropical setting, two meticulously maintained golf courses ranked among the top courses in the world, biking trails, and so much more. The gardens are dedicated to the stewardship of natural resources and offer unlimited activities in a private setting that is proclaimed to be “the closest thing to heaven.”  

Fashion designer Kevan Hall’s 2013 Spring Collection presented by AGTA

Los Angeles-based designer Kevan Hall unveiled his Spring 2013 collection in December with an intimate runway production at his atelier, presented by the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA), harkening back to the salon presentations of the 1950s.  Celebrities including Estelle, Teri Hatcher, who made it a mother-daughter date night with daughter Emerson Rose Tenney, Virginia Madsen, Mayim Bialik, Alfre Woodard, Twilight’s Christian Serratos and more were in attendance to take in the drama on the runway. 

Atlanta Jewelry Show to offer GIA Lab Classes during 2013 Shows

(ATLANTA) – Responding to continued demand from its regional retail audience, the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) will once again offer GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Lab classes in conjunction with the semi-annual Atlanta Jewelry Show at the Cobb Galleria Center, Atlanta, GA. Providing a mix of lecture and hands-on training in an action-oriented environment, the GIA Diamond Grading Lab Class will be offered during the March Show and the GIA Colored Stone Lab Class will be offered in August.

Stuller announces eight Bridge conference dates in 2013 focused on store profitability
