Take a proactive approach to jewelry retailing

OJA seminar to offer sales techniques, JA certification opportunity

The Oklahoma Jewelers Association (OJA) invites retail jewelers in Oklahoma and surrounding states to attend a seminar developed to enhance sales techniques targeting today’s multiple generations of jewelry buyers.

Lynn Baldwin and Darci Aselage, two veteran retail jewelers, and sales trainers with The Edge Retail Academy, will be presenting three hours of sales concepts, impressions and assessments at the seminar, which is being held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Oklahoma City, on Sunday, April 19th. As a team they will help jewelers - owners, managers and sales associates - identify the needs of their clients, and at the same time know how to recognize the line between being proactive and being pushy.

Jewelers for Children to honor Philippe Mellier and Scott Burger at Facets of Hope Event

Jewelers for Children (JFC) will hold their annual Facets of Hope event on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Philippe Mellier, CEO of De Beers Group and Scott Burger, CEO of the Americas for Pandora will be honored.

The event celebrates the success of JFC’s fund raising efforts for the year, and commitments to the charity partners are announced. In 2014, more than 1,800 industry guests attended during the Las Vegas market events. Both Mellier and Burger have agreed to serve as guests of honor at the event with the responsibility of assisting JFC in raising funds to benefit children who are the victims of catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect. Each year, prominent industry leaders are honored by the charity.

NFL legend Terry Bradshaw to present opening keynote at Conclave

GIA Colored Stone, Pearl Grading Lab Classes to be offered at Spring Atlanta Jewelry Show

(ATLANTA) - For the fifth year in a row, the Atlanta Jewelry Show will offer Gemological Institute of America® (GIA®) Lab classes in conjunction with its semi-annual show at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Atlanta, GA. Saving retailers the time and expense of traveling to the GIA campus, the Atlanta Jewelry Show will add this top-level coursework to the many other educational and product resources featured during the February 28 - March 2, 2015 edition. Programs will include the Colored Stone Grading Lab on Wednesday, February 25 - Friday, February 27 and the Pearl Grading Lab on Saturday, February 28.
