JIS October Miami Beach Show adds 18K Club section

(MIAMI BEACH, Fla.) - JIS (Jewelers International Showcase), the Miami Beach Jewelry Trade Show, is excited to announce a new addition to their highly successful October show, The 18K Club. 

Through comments from their attending buyers and exhibitors it became apparent to JIS that the demand for 18K finished jewelry and other high end merchandise is once again on the rise and exhibitors are transitioning their lines in order to meet the renewed demand for higher end luxury designs.

AJA’s Saltwater Seminar slated for October

The 2014 Alabama Jewelers Association (AJA) Saltwater Seminar is scheduled for October 10th - 12th at The Island House Hotel in Orange Beach, Alabama.

AJA President, Danny Clarke of Gold Art in Mobile extends an invitation to fellow retail jewelers and traveling sales associates to be a part of this exciting weekend. “All states are welcome to attend any AJA event, and we always appreciate the support of our traveling sales associates,” says Clarke.   

Jewelers of Louisiana hold 69th annual Convention

The 69th annual Jewelers of Louisiana Convention took place July 19 - 20  at the Westin Hotel in New Orleans, and featured a full schedule of education, entertainment, and networking opportunities for all who attended.

The opening day of the Convention provided attendees with the opportunity to participate in Sales and Management certification testing, provided by Jewelers of America. Later that evening, the Jewelers of Louisiana group enjoyed dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse, along with music, and group networking.

The Convention opened it’s second day with a breakfast buffet, followed by registration and an opportunity for attendees to vote on jewelry submitted by Louisiana jewelers for the Louisiana Jewelry Design Contest. After opening remarks from Louisiana Jewelers Association President Kevin Bennett, the Convention seminars began, with attendees enjoying presentations from David Peters, Chief Learning Officer for The Jewelry Coach; Shellie Bill of Premiere Consulting; and Stuller, Inc.

The afternoon concluded with lunch and a final seminar presentation by David Peters, followed by the announcement of the Design Contest winners and presentations to both the Associate of the Year and Jeweler of the Year.

TJA Convention brings seminars, education & networking together with exhibitors, diamond vendors & more

Finishing touches are being put on the 2014 Texas Jewelers Association (TJA) Convention, to be held September 27 - 30 in San Antonio. This year the TJA, together with the Israeli Diamond Industry (IDI), will host the 1st annual Texas-Israel Diamond Show, scheduled for September 29 - 30.

The St. Anthony Hotel, located on the San Antonio Riverwalk, will be home to the event. Currently undergoing a $24 million renovation - scheduled to be completed and ready for attendees to enjoy during the convention - the St. Anthony Hotel is a National Historic Landmark, Completed in 1909, the St. Anthony still has much of the period detail preserved.

JA New York announces new dates for 2015 Winter Show

(NEW YORK) - JA New York has announced that the dates for their 2015 Winter Show will be moved from March to January 18 - 20, 2015. The new show dates reflect a need within the industry to create a stand alone show that won’t overlap with any other trade event. JA New York decision makers also feel the new timing of the show will be beneficial for retailers after what’s expected to be a prosperous holiday selling season.

GIA’s New York Jewelry Career Fair draws hundreds

(NEW YORK) - More than 800 ambitious and aspiring professionals packed the Javits Center on July 28, where 44 companies were looking to fill hundreds of positions at the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Jewelry Career Fair. The jewelry industry’s largest recruiting event drew crowds for job opportunities ranging from an on-air television host to design, manufacturing and sales positions. The program also featured one-on-one career coaching with industry veterans and a panel discussion led by top names in the jewelry business.

Mississippi Jewelers hold annual Convention

The Mississippi Jewelers Association (MJA) held its 63rd annual Convention in June at the Whispering Woods Resort in Olive Branch, MS.  Olive Branch (just outside Memphis, TN) is considered to be the fastest growing city in America and association members had the opportunity to visit and learn about the northwest part of Mississippi.
