New exhibit series “Aluminati” spotlights gem and jewelry stars


GIA Museum to feature designer Kara Ross as first Aluminati

(CARLSBAD, Calif) – The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Museum has announced the launch of a new exhibit series, “Aluminati: From Student to Star,” which will highlight the talents of Institute alumni who have made waves in the gem and jewelry industry. The first exhibit in the series, featuring designer Kara Ross, opened in April at GIA’s world headquarters in Carlsbad, CA.

Antique Jewelry & Art Conference to run in conjunction with August Atlanta Show

(ATLANTA) - To help independent jewelers tap into the emerging estate jewelry market’s tremendous profit potential, the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association (SJTA) has invited the 36th Annual Antique Jewelry & Art Conference to run in conjunction with its August 3-5, 2013 Atlanta Jewelry Show at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Scheduled for August 1-3, 2013, “Jewelry Camp,” as the Conference is affectionately known in the industry, gives retailers the chance to come to Atlanta earlier and extend their stay to take full advantage of the extensive educational offerings both events deliver.

Speaker line up for Alabama/Georgia Convention

The boards of Alabama and Georgia Jewelers Association are delighted to announce the educational line up for their two state convention, April 26-28.

For the fifth consecutive year, the states will co-host their annual convention.  The groups return to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia, the site of the first joint convention five years ago. The Lodge & Spa at Callaway Gardens is a luxury property managed by Marriott.

AGS expands the Conclave Tech Center
