The AGS Circle of Distinction returns with sold-out event

(LAS VEGAS) – After taking a year off from the festivities, the American Gem Society celebrated the return of their Circle of Distinction Dinner at the iconic Plaza Hotel on July 25. The event roared back this year with a full house. A Who’s Who of industry notables came out in full force to honor Terry Burman, the 2010 recipient of The Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the esteemed Triple Zero Award winners.


Florida Society of Goldsmiths announce Winter Workshop dates

The 15th annual Winter Workshop sponsored by the NE Chapter of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths (FSG) will be held January 2 - 7, 2011 at The Plaza Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach, Florida .

Instructors scheduled for the 2011 Workshop include: Juan Carlos Caballero-Perez, John Cogswell, Andy Cooperman, Bill Fretz, and Marilynn Nicholson. Students will be able to choose from 2- and 3-day workshops to create a week of quality instruction and networking with fellow metalsmiths and jewelry artists.

NICHE: The Show plans 2010 return to Vegas Jewelry Week pays off for new luxury tradeshow

(BALTIMORE) - When Buyers Market of American Craft organizers gambled on launching a luxury tradeshow in Las Vegas, they produced a winner. Based on their success, plans are being made for a 2011 show.

Described by visitors as a “jewel box” and a “boutique show,” NICHE: The Show presented a carefully juried selection of handmade fine gold, silver and gemstone jewelry, plus glass, wood, ceramic and metal art objects suitable for wedding gifts or store display.
