Scott Ginsberg to give keynote speech at Smart Jewelry Show

(CHICAGO) - How often do you attend an event and you are immediately greeted with a table full of “Hello my name is” stickers and think “do I really need one of these?” Entrepreneur, author and full-time-name-tag-wearer, Scott Ginsberg, has made it his job to make people friendlier and strengthen networking skills. The Ultimate Design Contest finalists announced by Instore and The Smart Jewelry Show

(CHICAGO) - The ten finalists of The Ultimate Design Contest, a unique jewelry design competition, have been announced by Instore/Indesign and The Smart Jewelry Show. From start to finish, the competition will take jewelry designs from renderings to finished pieces of jewelry, displayed at The Smart Jewelry Show April 24-26 in Chicago, IL.

AGTA GemFair Tucson sees increase in buyers

(DALLAS) - The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) reports that the 2010 AGTA GemFair™ Tucson had an increase in buyer traffic over the 2009 show.  A total of 8176 registered buyers attended the event, a 7% increase over last year.  The show was held February 2-7 at the Tucson Convention Center.

“We were encouraged to see an increase in the number of buyers at GemFair and the enthusiasm they brought to the show floor,” stated Douglas K. Hucker, AGTA CEO.  “We had steady traffic each day of the show and the buyers were serious about restocking their inventory in a wide variety of gemstones and pearls in all price points.”

JA New York reports 22% increase in buyer attendance at the Winter Show 2010

(NEW YORK) –  The JA New York Winter 2010 show closed on Tuesday, March 2nd leaving the Jacob K. Javits Center buzzing with the positive energy from the last three days. Sunday, the opening day of the show saw a 24% increase in attendance over last year’s Winter Show opening, with an overall increase of 22% for the entire show.  This increase, coupled with the upbeat feedback from both the exhibitors and attendees seems to indicate a positive shift in the industry.  The JA New York Winter Show provided participating exhibitors and attendees the best tools and resources at hand and an ideal environment in which to conduct business in the all-important spring season.

49th Annual Original Miami Beach Antique Show reports record attendance, robust sales

(MIAMI, Fla.) - dmg world media reported record attendance, by several thousand people, and robust exhibitor sales at the 49th Annual Original Miami Beach Antique Show. The show was held January 21-25 at the Miami Beach Convention Center and showcased fine American and European silver, original paintings and works of art spanning more than three centuries, textiles and rugs and highly sought 19th and 20th Century glass, Asian Art, objects of virtue, and pieces of Art Deco and Modernism eras.

Industry’s first Vendor Summit held in Atlanta

(ATLANTA) – As the first event of its kind in the jewelry industry, the inaugural Jewelry Vendor Summit brought together more than 18 nationally known manufacturers in Atlanta, GA on January 13 to discuss many of the critical issues facing jewelry manufacturers today.  Designed to serve as an outlet for manufacturers seeking guidance in today’s challenging economic climate, the event was organized by Jeff Unger, Alisa Unger Designs/B & N Jewelry and by Southern Jewelry Travelers Association/Atlanta Jewelry Show Executive Director, Carol Young.
