Paco Underhill to speak at The SMART Jewelry Show

(CHICAGO) - The SMART Jewelry Show has announced that best-selling author and retail environment expert Paco Underhill will deliver the keynote address at its 2015 Chicago show on Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 a.m.

Drawing on his 20 years of experience studying the buying habits of shoppers around the world, Underhill will give retail jewelers ideas for creating a physical environment and store personality that fits the needs of their market’s demographics.

Miami Antique Jewelry & Watch Show changes venues for November event

(MIAMI) - For 2014, the prestigious Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show will now be held at the Miami Airport Convention Center, Nov. 7-9. Just 13 miles from Miami Beach, the event will showcase internationally recognized dealers and a fantastic variety of antique, vintage and estate jewelry and watches.

Recently renamed the Miami Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, the show will cater to an array of antique jewelry enthusiasts in Miami, Coral Gables, Ft. Lauderdale and beyond. In addition, the new venue will accommodate a larger number of shoppers looking to get a head start on holiday gift buying. The Miami Airport Convention Center currently features 172,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space.

August SJO Show delivers fresh designs and business growth opportunities

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - The luxurious Ballantyne Hotel and Spa was busy August 24-26 with the annual summer Southeastern Jewelers Organization (SJO) Show.  The well-established buying group’s event delighted members and vendors alike. SJO reports attendance exceeded expectations to create a positive buzz throughout the 3-day event.

JIS October Miami Beach Show adds 18K Club section

(MIAMI BEACH, Fla.) - JIS (Jewelers International Showcase), the Miami Beach Jewelry Trade Show, is excited to announce a new addition to their highly successful October show, The 18K Club. 

Through comments from their attending buyers and exhibitors it became apparent to JIS that the demand for 18K finished jewelry and other high end merchandise is once again on the rise and exhibitors are transitioning their lines in order to meet the renewed demand for higher end luxury designs.

AJA’s Saltwater Seminar slated for October

The 2014 Alabama Jewelers Association (AJA) Saltwater Seminar is scheduled for October 10th - 12th at The Island House Hotel in Orange Beach, Alabama.

AJA President, Danny Clarke of Gold Art in Mobile extends an invitation to fellow retail jewelers and traveling sales associates to be a part of this exciting weekend. “All states are welcome to attend any AJA event, and we always appreciate the support of our traveling sales associates,” says Clarke.   

Jewelers of Louisiana hold 69th annual Convention

The 69th annual Jewelers of Louisiana Convention took place July 19 - 20  at the Westin Hotel in New Orleans, and featured a full schedule of education, entertainment, and networking opportunities for all who attended.

The opening day of the Convention provided attendees with the opportunity to participate in Sales and Management certification testing, provided by Jewelers of America. Later that evening, the Jewelers of Louisiana group enjoyed dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse, along with music, and group networking.

The Convention opened it’s second day with a breakfast buffet, followed by registration and an opportunity for attendees to vote on jewelry submitted by Louisiana jewelers for the Louisiana Jewelry Design Contest. After opening remarks from Louisiana Jewelers Association President Kevin Bennett, the Convention seminars began, with attendees enjoying presentations from David Peters, Chief Learning Officer for The Jewelry Coach; Shellie Bill of Premiere Consulting; and Stuller, Inc.

The afternoon concluded with lunch and a final seminar presentation by David Peters, followed by the announcement of the Design Contest winners and presentations to both the Associate of the Year and Jeweler of the Year.

TJA Convention brings seminars, education & networking together with exhibitors, diamond vendors & more

Finishing touches are being put on the 2014 Texas Jewelers Association (TJA) Convention, to be held September 27 - 30 in San Antonio. This year the TJA, together with the Israeli Diamond Industry (IDI), will host the 1st annual Texas-Israel Diamond Show, scheduled for September 29 - 30.

The St. Anthony Hotel, located on the San Antonio Riverwalk, will be home to the event. Currently undergoing a $24 million renovation - scheduled to be completed and ready for attendees to enjoy during the convention - the St. Anthony Hotel is a National Historic Landmark, Completed in 1909, the St. Anthony still has much of the period detail preserved.
