Atlanta Jewelry Show announces expanded educational schedule

(ATLANTA) – Retailers attending the March 8-10, 2014 Atlanta Jewelry Show at the Cobb Galleria Centre will find an expanded roster of educational programming touching on everything from bridal trends and colored gemstones to security, social media strategies, marketing tips and more.  Special programs, including new, daily Café Conversations, a Gemological Institute of America ® (GIA®) Lab Class, a brand new Gemworld International Workshop and the popular AJS U series bring together top presenters touching on the industry’s most important issues, business-building strategies, trends and challenges.  All designed to arm jewelers with practical and profitable ideas to maximize sales throughout the year.

Richmond jewelers raise over $10,000 for Richmond Children’s Hospital at VCU

(RICHMOND, Vir.) - A dozen of Richmond’s finest retail jewelers helped to raise $10,425 with their Jewels for Children Raffle at the 50th Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball, held at the Country Club of Virginia in November.

The raffle for the Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball is the fourth created by the jewelers under the leadership of Cheryl Fornash, the principal of Cheryl Fornash Jewelers. Each jeweler donated a piece of jewelry with a retail value of $1,500 to create the multi-faceted collection.

Lewis Diamonds & Timepieces celebrates 32nd anniversary

Raises $73K for Texas Children’s Hospital

(WEBSTER, Tex.) - Lewis Diamonds & Timepieces celebrated its 32nd anniversary in November with a white-themed party titled Frost Yourself.

Guests were encouraged to enjoy an 11-piece band and large tent complete with a dance floor, and delicious food and drinks as they visited and browsed the luxury jewelry and timepiece lines.

U.S. Antique Shows debut Educational Jewelry Series

(MIAMI) - To fulfill a consistent interest from national and international show attendees to further their antique jewelry education, U.S. Antique Shows premieres The Original Miami Beach Antique Jewelry Series. Beginning two days prior to the opening of The Original Miami Beach Antique Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the jewelry conference, Jan. 28-29, 2014, will showcase notable jewelry experts with extensive knowledge on selected areas of jewelry history.

MJSA brings At the Bench Live sessions to 2014 AGTA GemFair Tucson

MJSA, the trade association dedicated to professional excellence in jewelry making and design, will again present its signature At the Bench Live demonstrations at the 2014 AGTA GemFair Tucson. The sessions - covering topics ranging from working with currently fashionable gems and metals to new setting techniques - will run twice daily Feb. 4-7 in GemFair’s Tools, Technology, and Supplies Pavilion. In addition, related articles from MJSA Journal will be distributed at each session.
