Next Generation of independent retailers converge for New Experience

RJO July(OAK BROOK, Ill.) - Next generation independent retail jewelers gathered from across the country for the second annual Retail Jewelers Organization’s (RJO) Next Gen Experience. Co-sponsored by RDI Diamonds, Stuller, Ostbye and Pancis Gems, the weekend brought together over 40 next gen jewelers for focused, hands-on educational sessions.

The program entitled, “The RJO Next Generation Experience: Creating Ultimate Jewelers of the Future,” included topics about making choices, dealing with conflict, establishing a business vision, developing core values and the future of the industry.


Jewelers for Children celebrates 17 years

JFC July(NEW YORK) - On May 31, 2015, Jewelers for Children (JFC) held the 17th Annual Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The charity announced that $2.8 million had been raised to support their charity partners in the year ahead and that since 1999, more than $48 million had been donated on behalf of the industry to help children in need. “Each year that amazing number grows due to the generosity of the wonderful people in this industry,” said Ruth Batson, JFC board chair. “Over the past 17 years, we have touched the lives of so many thousands of children and their families.”

Select By Centurion Foxwoods to hold 5th annual show

(LEDYARD, Conn.) - The Select By Centurion show returns for its fifth consecutive year to New England at the beautiful Fox Tower at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Timed to coincide with the final holiday buying needs of mainstream better fine jewelry stores, this invitation only show will take place Sunday and Monday September 20-21, 2015.

MJSA Expo New York to move to the Javits Center, run simultaneously with JA New York

Javits July(ATTLEBORO, Mass.) - In a move that creates a unique buying opportunity, in 2016 MJSA Expo New York will move to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and run simultaneously with the JA New York Spring Show, March 13-15.

In addition, while both shows will continue to be run independently, MJSA and JA New York have agreed to honor each other’s badges, thereby enabling qualified attendees of either show easy access to all exhibitors and educational sessions.

The event is free and open to job seekers.

Jewelry shines at the Jewelers of America Fashion Show at AGS Conclave

Showcased fine jewelry from 27 jewelry designers

(NEW YORK) - Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, produced the Jewelers of America Fashion Show at American Gem Society (AGS) Conclave in front of a standing room only crowd of AGS Conclave attendees. Jewelry lit up the runway during the fashion show that combined clothing from esteemed New York fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo with the fine jewelry of 27 jewelry brands. The Fashion Show took place on April 22 at the New Orleans Marriott.
