Brad Huisken of IAS Training is proud to announce the addition of another Business Strategies and Solutions Seminar in Orlando, FL, March 4-6, 2013. Due to the overwhelming response, the wealth of information delivered and the success of the past participants the group has decided to add three more speakers and four additional topics.


Alabama and Georgia Jewelers announce education line-up for 2014 Convention

For the 6th consecutive year, the states of Alabama and Georgia will co-host their annual convention (to be held April 11-13, 2014) at The Lodge & Spa at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The groups return to Callaway, the site of the two group’s first joint convention five years ago, at the luxury property managed by Marriott, promises to be a fun filled weekend that will send attendees home with new business tools and new friends.

AGA seminar to discuss potential health hazards of green diamonds

The Accredited Gemologists Association (AGA) announced in November that respected research gemologist Franck Notari, co-founder of GGTL Lab, Geneva, Switzerland (www.ggtl-lab.org), will be speaking exclusively at the AGA Conference in Tucson, AZ, on February 5th. Notari will present recent research findings concerning radiation - including potential health hazards - associated with green diamonds.

March JA New York Show adds 4th day

JA New York is pleased to announce that the dates for the March 2014 JA New York Show have been extended. Originally the dates were set at March 2, 3 and 4; however, because the TDC Hong Kong Show opens on March 5th, JA learned that many vendors would not be able to participate in both shows due to such close timing.

GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair attracts hundreds of ambitious professionals

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Nearly 500 professionals at every career stage packed GIA’s (Gemological Institute of America) 30-acre campus in Carlsbad on Oct. 11, where 27 companies looking to fill hundreds of positions were on-hand at the Institute’s annual Jewelry Career Fair & Open House. The industry’s preeminent recruiting experience drew crowds for hiring opportunities, one-on-one career coaching and an array of panel discussions with industry executives, entrepreneurs and designers.

Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show moves to Miami in 2014

(MIAMI) - For 2014, U.S. Antique Shows is making a move. The prestigious Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show will now be hosted in the high fashion city known for its Latin flair and street styles, Miami, on Nov. 14 - 16, 2014. The show, which is to be held at the Miami Airport Convention Center, will continue to showcase internationally recognized dealers and the fantastic variety of antique, vintage and estate jewelry and watches attendees have come to love.

JIC announces GEM Awards date and new format

 

(NEW YORK) - Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, will hold its 12th annual GEM Awards gala – considered the “Academy Awards” of the fine jewelry industry – on Friday, January 10, 2014, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. GEM Awards will debut an exciting new format that will announce the winners live during the ceremony for three of its GEM Awards categories: Communications, Design and Media Excellence.
