GIA’s Jewelry Career Fair attracts hundreds of ambitious professionals

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – Nearly 500 professionals at every career stage packed GIA’s (Gemological Institute of America) 30-acre campus in Carlsbad on Oct. 11, where 27 companies looking to fill hundreds of positions were on-hand at the Institute’s annual Jewelry Career Fair & Open House. The industry’s preeminent recruiting experience drew crowds for hiring opportunities, one-on-one career coaching and an array of panel discussions with industry executives, entrepreneurs and designers.


Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show moves to Miami in 2014

(MIAMI) - For 2014, U.S. Antique Shows is making a move. The prestigious Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show will now be hosted in the high fashion city known for its Latin flair and street styles, Miami, on Nov. 14 - 16, 2014. The show, which is to be held at the Miami Airport Convention Center, will continue to showcase internationally recognized dealers and the fantastic variety of antique, vintage and estate jewelry and watches attendees have come to love.

JIC announces GEM Awards date and new format

 

(NEW YORK) - Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, will hold its 12th annual GEM Awards gala – considered the “Academy Awards” of the fine jewelry industry – on Friday, January 10, 2014, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. GEM Awards will debut an exciting new format that will announce the winners live during the ceremony for three of its GEM Awards categories: Communications, Design and Media Excellence.

Hong Kong International Jewellery Show & Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show join to dazzle brighter

As the new arrangement of “2 Shows 2 Venues” approaches, the March 2014 HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show are expected to draw more than 3,500 exhibitors to showcase the world of finished jewelry, diamonds, precious gemstones and pearls under two specialized platforms.

Preferred Jewelers cruise to success

The first annual Preferred Institute Cruise set sail on September 27 from the port of Miami under the guidance of “Captain” Andie Weinman along with her “First Mate” Joe Murphy, and a ship full of independent jewelers eager to embrace a weekend of education and entertainment.
