Smart Show seeking contestants for Bench Pressure Challenge

(CHICAGO) - InStore magazine and The Smart Jewelry Show are seeking applicants to compete in InStore’s Bench Pressure Challenge competition to be held April 18 - 20, 2015, at Chicago’s Navy Pier.

A total of eight contestants will be selected; four each for the All-Around Challenge and the CAD Challenge. Each will receive round-trip airfare to The Smart Jewelry Show and two nights accommodation at the show hotel.

San Antonio spells success for the TJA and the Texas-Israel Diamond Show

The Texas Jewelers Association (TJA) held its convention and the Texas-Israel Diamond Show at the St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, September 28 - 30.

The three day event allowed attendees the opportunity to participate in the educational offerings including Jewelers of America certification testing, seminars and presentations, networking, vendor exhibits and the Texas-Israel Diamond Show.

TJA vendor/exhibitor and Texas-based sales rep Bill Ward said of the event: “The TJA Convention was a smashing success! Downtown San Antonio was the perfect setting for the gathering, which included top jewelers from across the state of Texas. The flow of the event, including the seminars, breaks and networking schedule was a huge asset to the vendors, and encouraged a lot of time for vendor-retailer interaction. My sales at the Texas Jewelers Association Convention were the best I’ve ever had for a jewelers convention, and I can’t wait for next year!”

Paco Underhill to speak at The SMART Jewelry Show

(CHICAGO) - The SMART Jewelry Show has announced that best-selling author and retail environment expert Paco Underhill will deliver the keynote address at its 2015 Chicago show on Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 a.m.

Drawing on his 20 years of experience studying the buying habits of shoppers around the world, Underhill will give retail jewelers ideas for creating a physical environment and store personality that fits the needs of their market’s demographics.

Miami Antique Jewelry & Watch Show changes venues for November event

(MIAMI) - For 2014, the prestigious Miami Beach Antique Jewelry & Watch Show will now be held at the Miami Airport Convention Center, Nov. 7-9. Just 13 miles from Miami Beach, the event will showcase internationally recognized dealers and a fantastic variety of antique, vintage and estate jewelry and watches.

Recently renamed the Miami Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, the show will cater to an array of antique jewelry enthusiasts in Miami, Coral Gables, Ft. Lauderdale and beyond. In addition, the new venue will accommodate a larger number of shoppers looking to get a head start on holiday gift buying. The Miami Airport Convention Center currently features 172,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space.

August SJO Show delivers fresh designs and business growth opportunities

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - The luxurious Ballantyne Hotel and Spa was busy August 24-26 with the annual summer Southeastern Jewelers Organization (SJO) Show.  The well-established buying group’s event delighted members and vendors alike. SJO reports attendance exceeded expectations to create a positive buzz throughout the 3-day event.

JIS October Miami Beach Show adds 18K Club section
