The Southeastern Jewelers Organization (SJO) is gearing up for its Fall Buying Show in Charlotte at the renowned 4-star Ballantyne Hotel and Spa. SJO members, along with Mid-America Jewelers Association (MAJA) members, are invited to participate in this highly effective 3-day event. Members benefit from the variety and quality of vendors and the incredible networking and educational seminars, all within the luxurious Ballantyne Resort setting.
Starting Saturday, August 23rd, SJO members tee off with the member/vendor golf competition, followed by the pool-side Welcoming Party, sponsored by Shah Diamonds and Royal Pacific Gems. Sunday promises to thrive with educational seminars and a busy buying floor as everyone prepares for the highly anticipated evening Member Vendor Gala. Monday brings more cutting edge speakers addressing vital industry and profitability related topics and a full day of Fall buying opportunities in the grand ballroom.
The weekend education seminars are under the leadership of renowned trainer Shane Decker and Terry Chandler, President/CEO of the Diamond Council of America. These break-out sessions will give members and their staff vital sales improvement strategies for the upcoming season that are both effective and worthwhile. Time spent with Shane is always worthwhile, and Terry, along with his wife Cindy, G.G., will present a comprehensive discussion about the differences in diamond grading reports, when they should be used, and the issues, positive and negative, surrounding them. Grading reports are vital in today’s jewelry business but must be understood and used effectively by jewelers.
The session will also include a question and answer period to allow attendees to participate and have their particular questions and concerns on this topic addressed.
“We’re very pleased to host our 2014 Fall Show at the superb Ballantyne Hotel and Spa,” said Paul Downey, president of the Southeastern Jewelers Organization. “Members and guests will really enjoy the top quality of the resort, the relevance of the speakers and the opportunity to meet with some of the best and varied vendors in the industry.”
Following the decision to discontinue the MAJA Show, this partnership with SJO will provide MAJA members with a top quality Show and the improved terms and discounts that come from membership in the SJO buying group. MAJA members are invited to attend the Show as guests and see for themselves why SJO members have enjoyed significant group benefits, terms and discounts since 1963.
