Johnson wins Georgia Jewelers Design Competition

Marietta, GA jeweler Johnny Johnson has won the Best of Show category in the Georgia Jewelers Association annual Jewelry Design Contest. The Contest took place April 13th at the Callaway Garden Resort and Spa in Pine Mountain, GA during the association’s annual convention.

Johnson, owner of Edward-Johns Jewelers in Marietta, GA took top billing with his winning design: a 14k yellow and white gold aquamarine, black jade and diamond pendant. The competition winners were announced at the GJA’s Past President’s luncheon. Johnson last won the Best of Show in 2012.

Johnson also took the People’s Choice award with a 14K yellow and white gold tanzanite, spessartite, and diamond pendant. The People’s Choice award was selected by jeweler attendees from the states of Georgia and Alabama. Johnson was thrilled with the double win along with three first place wins.

Now is not too soon for Georgia Jewelers Association members to begin design plans for their 2015 entries. The competition is open to all GJA member stores, their employees and affiliated students. Contact Judy Lince, GJA executive director, for more information.
