NCJA elects officers, board of direct

Stacey Sears of Holland Jewelers in Apex, North Carolina was elected to serve as President of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Jewelers Association (NCJA).  The announcement was made during the NCJA annual meeting, April 24th at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Grande Dunes Resort.  Sears, a Graduate Gemologist and Master Stone Setter, has served as an officer of the NCJA Board of Directors for the last three years.   Holland Jewelers has been a fixture in the Apex community for 52 years.  Sears is co-owner of the store.

Stacey Sears, G. G., Master Stone Setter co-owner of Apex, NC-based Holland Jewelers, was elected to serve as President of the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Jewelers Association.
“I am honored and pleased to have the opportunity to lead the North Carolina Jewelers Association,” said Sears. “There are many exciting challenges ahead of us and I look forward to working with the membership to lead our industry by assisting legislative initiatives, creating strategic alliances and implementing additional member benefits.

Joining Sears as officers of the board include 1st Vice President Tracey Love - Love’s Jewelry of Brevard, 2nd Vice President Lora Wright - Southern Jewelers of Sanford and 3rd Vice President Brad Padgett - Bradley’s Jewelers of Jacksonville.  Ashley Green – Green’s Jewelers of Roxboro and Bill Warren – The Gold Mine of Hudson, were elected to serve three-year terms as directors.

The annual meeting during which they were elected was held in conjunction with the 2010 NCJA/SCJA Annual Convention.  NCJA and SCJA hosted 100 attendees for educational seminars, the Bulova Golf Tournament and roundtable discussions.

In addition to the festivities, attendees helped raise $3,800 for Victory Junction.  Victory Junction is a camp for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses in Randleman, North Carolina.  Built in honor of Adam Petty, it was founded in 2004 with the mission of providing life-changing camping experiences that are fun, exciting and empowering, within a safe and medically sound environment.  Since its inception, Victory Junction has served more than 11,000 children and families.  They have welcomed children from 47 different states and three different counties.
