(CHICAGO) - The Illinois State Legislature has implemented new Labor Laws that take affect before Instore’s Smart Jewelry Show, scheduled for April 2 – 4, 2011, at Chicago’s historic Navy Pier. With these changes, exhibitors with booths of any size may now set-up their own exhibits with the use of power tools and their own ladders. Exhibitors may use hand-push dollies to bring in their own booth materials. Exhibitors may hang and plug in their own lights without union assistance and more. In addition to these new labor laws, The Smart Jewelry Show has negotiated new hotel rates now starting at just $139 per night. Through a new program set up by The Smart Jewelry Show special parking discount tickets will be available at the show saving the retailers and exhibitors $5 to $8 per day. Pricing for tables, chairs, cross bars, labor and more have been reduced by 10%. Light bar rentals have been reduced by approximately 20%.
“We are thrilled about these new cost saving changes underway for our exhibitors in the 2011 Show,” says Show Director, Jim Reed. “The favorable changes in the Labor Laws and the other cost saving negotiations we have accomplished will help to improve the exhibitors’ bottom line.”
