Edge Down Under Conference offers 4 days of intense learning for jewelers

The Edge Retail Academy in the USA is hosting the Edge Down Under Conference on the Gold Coast, Australia from January 11 - 14, 2011. The event will be the first of it’s kind for US jewelers to attend in Australia and will cover educational topics as diverse as the state of the industry, understanding your key performance indicators, how to sell significant jewelry pieces, pressing your staff and customers’ buttons, hiring and developing the right staff, getting the most from your marketing promotions and much more.

Organizer David Brown says he is excited by the response so far. “For the industry this event is the first of its kind providing so many resources and so much material in such an ideal environment to learn. We are fortunate in having high quality presenters from the US, Australia and New Zealand attending including Chuck Lein who has been involved in a $40 billion dollar wholesale business. You don’t get the opportunity to hear people such as Chuck speak every day.” David was also excited by the opportunity the course presented for Australian and US jewelers to mingle. “Both countries have so much to learn from each other in terms of best practice procedures, particularly in the areas of inventory control, margins and marketing,” he said.

The event will also include a video link up with Matt Stuller, founder of Stuller, Inc. Janice Mack Talcott will also speak at the conference following her very popular series of events in Australia in September. The event closes for early bird bookings soon and promises to have a strong attendance. “Accommodation is at a premium on the Gold Coast at this time of year, so it’s important to book early,” says David.
