IGI - North & South America attains 3-year RJC re-certification, 10-year ISO re-accreditation

(NEW YORK) - IGI – North & South America continues to embrace the importance of maintaining credibility and high industry standards through submission to independent external audits. The Institute recently announced it has achieved re-certification by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), as well as re-accreditation by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for ISO 9001:2008 quality management systems.

MJSA appoints new Chair of Board of Directors

(ATTLEBORO, Mass.) - MJSA, the U.S. trade association dedicated to professional excellence in jewelry making and design, has elected Ann Arnold as chair of its board of directors.

Arnold, a CPA, currently serves as chief strategy officer of the Buyers Intelligence Group, a business merchandising consultancy focused on helping independent retailers analyze and plan their merchandise mix, as well as linking and networking them with their vendor partners. Prior to that, she served for more than 20 years as VP and later CEO of Lieberfarb, a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of bridal jewelry.

Susan Eisen dubbed “Queen of Bling” after winning Best Jeweler in El Paso for ten years in a row

Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry Watches Art and Appraisals won the top honor for the tenth time in a row in El Paso’s What’s Up magazine, Best of the Best annual competition. The emcee at the event, local KVIA sportscaster Asher Wildman dubbed Susan Eisen the “Queen of Bling” at the awards ceremony held earlier this year.

Texas Jewelers Association announces 2014 Design Competition winners

Stephanie Budde - C. Kirk Root Designs, Austin, TX - has taken top honors in the 2014 Texas Jewelers Association (TJA) Design Competition and was named the Don Wilson “Best in Show” winner at the event, which took place during the TJA 2014 Convention. Budde’s winning creation, a  lavender zoisite, tanzanite and diamond pendant set in 14K rose gold and palladium, was also the 1st place winner in Category 3.

Scott Murphy to replace retiring leader, Darwin Copeman

(NEENAH, Wis.) - Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company has announced that the board of directors has selected the successor to President and CEO Darwin Copeman, who will be retiring in 2015. Darwin Copeman has been president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual since 2009.
