Sculpturings wins 8th annual Halstead Grant for Silver Jewelry Entrepreneurs

(DAVENPORT, Fla.) - Halstead is proud to announce that Sculpturings entrepreneur Rebecca Rose of Davenport, FL is the winner of the 8th annual Halstead Grant competition for new silver jewelry designers. She will receive $5,000 in cash and $1,000 in jewelry supplies in addition to other prize package benefits.

24 Karat Club, Southeastern U.S. elects 2013 - 2014 Officers & Directors

(ATLANTA) – The 24 Karat Club, Southeastern United States (SEUS) held their semi-annual membership meeting on August 3 at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting was conducted just prior to opening day of the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association’s Atlanta Jewelry Show held at the same venue.

M. Geller, Gemesis agree on distribution deal

(CHICAGO) - Loose diamond wholesaler, M. Geller, Ltd has announced that they have entered into an agreement as authorized distributor for Gemesis, a principle distributor of gem-quality colorless and fancy color lab-created diamonds. (NEW YORK) - Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry retail marketplace, has announced new additions to its staff and strategic changes to current departments.

The association has hired Matthew Tratner as Director of Membership & Sales. In this newly created position, Tratner will oversee the operations of the Membership Department, including membership development and retention. Tratner brings to JA a background in jewelry sales that gives him an understanding of the needs and challenges of both JA’s retail and supplier members. Previously, he was COO and Partner at GemsAround.com, a designer jewelry e-commerce website, where his responsibilities included overseeing production and developing relationships with designer brands. Prior to that, he spent seven years in sales and operations at Maya J Diamond Jewelry, a New York-based diamond jewelry manufacturer. Tratner is also a GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional.
