Liz Maggio, Reflections in Gold, named 2017 24K Club SEUS Jeweler of the Year

24K JOY(ATLANTA) - Elizabeth Maggio, owner of Venice, FL-based Reflections in Gold, was honored with the prestigious 24 Karat Club Southeastern United States (SEUS) Jeweler of the Year Award. The award was presented at the 24K Club’s 43rd annual Banquet at the Atlanta Country Club on August 12. 24 Karat Club member Sandy Wieman-Morrow introduced Maggio’s grandson, Tony Maggio, who accepted the 2017 Jeweler of the Year award for his grandmother.


John Ford continues award-winning streak with 2017 AGTA Spectrum Award

(GALVESTON, Tex.) - John Ford triumphed again in two categories in the American Gem Trade Association’s 2017 Spectrum Awards. Ford won Platinum Honors in both the Evening Wear Division and the Business/Day Wear Division. The Spectrum Awards is said to be the Oscars of the jewelry industry - the most prestigious jewelry and gemstone competition in the world.

John Henne elected as Jewelers of America Board Chairman

Henne(NEW YORK) - Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has elected John Henne, President of Henne Jewelers in Pittsburgh, PA, as Board Chairman. He succeeds Ryan Berg, Market President of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry. Henne was elected on July 24, 2017 at JA’s Board meeting that also welcomed new Directors.

As the saying goes, “There is strength in numbers.” In the case of both the North Carolina Jewelers Association and the South Carolina Jewelers Association, that certainly rings true. The NCJA and SCJA have announced that the Board of Directors for both state associations have agreed to form a two-year alliance in order to expand association member opportunities and streamline association functionality, effective July 1, 2017. “The NCJA and SCJA are the face and voice of the North Carolina and South Carolina jewelry industry,” says Jane Kirk, Executive Director of both associations. “Each of its members is a credible professional, viewed as leaders in the industry, and important to the industry as a whole.”
