Padgett elected President of NC Jewelers Association

Padgett JulyThe North Carolina Jewelers Association (NCJA) announced that Brad Padgett, an independent jeweler and native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, is the new president of the statewide association. His two-year term of office as the organization’s president began May 16.

Padgett graduated with a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration from East Carolina University.  After working in his family’s business and various capacities for a regional jewelry chain, Padgett opened his own store - Bradley’s Jewelers - in July 2005. 

Two Houston jewelers named Distinction Winners in Houston Better Business Bureau Awards for Excellence

Gemologist-writer Diana Jarrett earns top place in writers competition

Jarrett award July(NEW YORK) - Well-known industry writer and gemologist Diana Jarrett gathered an armful of awards from the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies, Inc. for their Bulletin Editors Contest reports the New York Mineralogical Club. Jarrett is already a multi-award winning journalist to the trade and countless consumer publications. 

This year’s awards included the top billing Trophy for Educational Articles-Advanced for her reportage of the legendary Russian jeweler Fabergé in “Uncovering Fabergé.” She also accepted Third Place Written Features award for her Bulgari retrospective, “A Dazzling Display”. Lastly, her annual coverage of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Shows, “What Went Down at Tucson” earned 5th Place in the Non-Technical Articles division.
