Jewelers of America announces Board elections & new Chair

Georgie Gleim elected Chair of JA Board of Directors

(NEW YORK) – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry retail marketplace, has elected Georgie Gleim, President of Gleim The Jeweler in Palo Alto, CA, as JA’s new Board Chair. She succeeds Terry Burman, former Group CEO of Signet Jewelers Limited and Chairman of Sterling Jewelers, Inc. Gleim was elected in July, at a Board meeting that also welcomed many new Directors.

Marathon Company’s Audrey Robbins receives RJO Lifetime Achievement Award

When Audrey Robbins’ father, Mack Forman, first built the Marathon Company no one would have expected his daughter to be an integral part of the business in 2011.  But no one who knows her is surprised that she was selected to receive RJO’s Lifetime Achievement Award on the occasion of RJO’s 45th anniversary.

Jewelers for Children elects new Officers and Directors

(NEW YORK) - Jewelers for Children is pleased to announce the election of new officers and directors for the term beginning October 1, 2011. Peter M. Engel, President of Fred Meyer Jewelers, will replace Edward Bridge as Chairman. Bridge will conclude his two-year term on September 30. “It is an honor to be selected by my peers to lead this incredible organization,” Engel said. “Jewelers for Children brings the industry together in the service of so many worthwhile causes. I am excited to work with the board in expanding our support for children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse, or neglect.”
