JVC hires Jasmin Greene as Marketing/Development Associate

Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) has announced that Jasmin Greene has joined the association as the Marketing/Development Associate. Jasmin will focus on marketing campaigns inclusive of creating the quarterly newsletter, eNews Alerts, social media maintenance, membership outreach, fundraising, as well as devoting her time to special projects such as new Essential Guide books.

 Jasmin has worked in the marketing field for various non-profits, most recently in the education sector. She holds degrees from Hampton University and the University of California, Los Angeles.

The JVC looks forward to drawing upon Jasmin’s marketing experience in the non-profit community as she takes on this new role.


GIA announces new Governor, bids farewell to outgoing members

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Board of Governors welcomed Lisa Locklear as its newest member during the Institute’s November board meeting in Carlsbad, and said a fond goodbye to retiring governors Fred Levinger, Roland Naftule and Steve Relyea.

Locklear is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Ingram Micro, Americas. She is responsible for leading the finance organization and supporting business operations, including credit, accounting, reporting, planning and strategy for its $18 billion North America and Latin America regions.

Grice’s Donna Harris earns Tae Kwon Do Black Belt

On Friday, November 16, Donna Harris, vie president of Charlotte, NC-based Grice Showcase & Display, received her 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

In order to be eligible to test for this level in martial arts, you have to complete numerous requirements.  Harris entered a 10 week testing cycle during which she had to run 105 miles, do 10,000 pushups and 10,000 sit-ups, complete 210 sparring rounds, 210 rounds of jumping rope, 10,500 kicks, 1,000 burpees, 350 pull-ups, acquire letters of recommendation, write 9 essays, perform a variety of community service, receive mentoring, and more to be eligible to test. 

Jewelers Mutual promotes Carol Sanders to EVP and COO

Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company is delighted to announce the promotion of Carol Sanders, CPA, CMA, CFM, CPCU, to Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Jobbins named Executive VP of Elisa Ilana Jewelry

Omaha, NE-based Elisa Ilana Jewelry has announced the appointment of William “Bill” Jobbins as Executive Vice President of the corporation.

“Mr. Jobbins will be responsible for building the wholesale division of Elisa Ilana Jewelry. Our product line is very extensive and perfect for the independent jeweler in today’s market,” said Laurie A. Blitz celebrates 100 years

(JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind.) - Blitz Manufacturing is honored to announce the celebration of it’s centennial birthday.  Over the past 100 years, Blitz has seen the world change many times, from the introduction of the automobile and telephone to space travel and the Internet.  They made it through the great depression, dust bowls, floods, wars, and more.  At the very beginning, Blitz tied fortune to household brass, which eventually led to innovations with precious metals and more. Blitz provided the military with gun cleaning cloth in WWI and WWII.
