AGS honors Ben Bridge family, Rob Bates and Mark Moeller

2012 Circle of Distinction Dinner hosted best-of industry notables

(LAS VEGAS) –The American Gem Society (AGS) recently celebrated its 2012 Circle of Distinction Dinner at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The Society honored The Bridge Family of Ben Bridge Jeweler with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Society also honored Rob Bates, Senior Editor of JCK Magazine, and Mark Moeller, CGA, owner of R.F. Moeller Jeweler with the Triple Zero Awards.


Patrick Welch, PhD joins Rembrandt Charms as new President

(WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y.) - Rembrandt Charms CEO, Chris Lux, announced the appointment of Patrick W. Welch, PhD to company President.  Dr. Welch will serve as President and Chief Operating Officer of Rembrandt Charms.

Patrick returns to Rembrandt after 32 years of globe-trotting as COO and partner of Adaco Services where he implemented software solutions to hotels in over 50 countries.  Patrick has an extensive background, which includes over forty five years of business experience.

Spectrum Art & Jewelry earns IJO’s Superlative Design and Innovation Award

Star Sosa, owner of Spectrum Art & Jewelry in Wilmington, NC accepted the prestigious award for “Superlative Design and Innovation” at the conference of the Independent Jeweler’s Organization (IJO) held recently in Minneapolis, MN.  Sosa was elected for this national award from a pool of more than 850 IJO retail jeweler members, and the criterion for this honor was demonstration of “consistent artistic and innovative design ability.”

Jewelers Mutual® welcomes former AGS director of membership to sales team

(NEENAH, Wis.) - Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company recently hired Peggy Campbell as its newest sales consultant to help educate jewelry retailers about its newly-branded Personal Jewelry Insurance product, called Perfect Circle™ Jewelry Insurance (www.PerfectCircleInsurance.com). Campbell recently retired from the American Gem Society (AGS) as director of membership, a position she held since 1999. As director of membership, Campbell was a liaison on several AGS committees including Membership Committee, AGS Board Nominating Committee, Robert M. Shipley Award Committee, Circle of Distinctions Award Selection Committee, and the International Guilds Council.
