For Steve Floyd & Tom Williams, it seems like just yesterday Floyd & Green was “the new kid on the block” in Aiken, SC. Now the store is celebrating its 25th anniversary, a milestone they feel blessed to have achieved. Women’s Jewelry Association launches Advocacy Task Force

WJA e(POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.) - The Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) on November 2 launched its first ever “advocacy task force” to explore and ultimately create actionable tools, training, education, workplace coaching, and mentorship that can be utilized by WJA members to advance women’s roles in the jewelry industry workplace.

Dona Dirlam retires as Director of the Richard T. Liddicoat Gemological Library and Information Center

Robert Weldon named library director

GIA DIrlam(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - Dona Dirlam, director of GIA’s library and information center, has retired after 38 years of service to GIA’s (Gemological Institute of America) mission of ensuring the public trust in gems and jewelry. She was largely responsible for establishing and expanding the Richard T. Liddicoat Gemological Library and Information Center, a world-leading resource center for gems, gemology and jewelry. Dirlam’s successor will be Robert Weldon, who has been manager of photography and visual communications for GIA since 2006.

Jewelers of America announces 2018 GEM Awards nominees

The winners in these categories will be announced live during the 16th Annual GEM Awards on January 19, 2018, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.
