IJO names IDD 2012 Supplier of the Year


Diamond jewelry manufacturer IDD was honored with the IJO Supplier of the Year Award at the recently concluded Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO) Show in Minneapolis. IDD earned the award for their outstanding service, ethics and performance. This is the third year in the row that IDD has been honored with this award.

GIA’s Board of Governors welcome two new members

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has announced the appointments of Amit Dhamani, CEO and managing director of Dhamani Jewels Group, and Thomas Insley, CFO of Intrepid Therapeutics, Inc. to its Board of Governors. Both were inducted at GIA’s biannual board meeting in Hong Kong.

Snowden takes Best of Show in NCJA Design Competition

The North Carolina Jewelers Association (NCJA) announced the winner of its annual Design Competition during the NCJA annual meeting at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Grande Dunes Resort.  Chris Snowden of Snowden’s Jewelers in Wilmington won the Best of Show Award.   The competition recognizes the outstanding work of North Carolina jewelry designers.

Jewelers for Children celebrates 14 years

Announces milestone with over $40 million donated to children’s charities

(NEW YORK) – On June 3, Jewelers for Children (JFC) held the 14th Annual Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.  The charity announced that more than $2.5 million had been raised to support their charity partners in the year ahead, and that since 1999, more than $40 million had been donated on behalf of the industry to help children in need.
