RJO Vendor of the Year Awards presented

(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.) - The Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO) honored its top vendors at their recent Fall Buying Show in Minneapolis. Jewelers from around the country met to browse upcoming trends, network with other industry leaders and take part in continuing education sessions. The event, themed There’s No Business Like Show Business, also provided the setting for the annual RJO Vendor of the Year Awards. These awards, as selected by the retail membership, are given in recognition of outstanding sales, service and support.


JA and Fiera di Vicenza partner to promote TRENDVISION Jewellery + Forecasting project

Fallaize Insurance Agency celebrates 55 years, three generations

(ATLANTA) - The year was 1975 and a jeweler from a small suburb in north Atlanta known as Sandy Springs called his friend Jim Fallaize about a solicitation he had received from an insurance company. Sam Fowler was just a watchmaker who sold some jewelry as a complement to his watch repair business. 

Jim Fallaize was an independent insurance agent in Atlanta and agreed to help his friend complete a jewelers block application. At that time jewelers block was a little known coverage as the businesses purchasing such coverage were generally large with substantial inventories.  Small independent jewelers had little knowledge, if any, of the coverage or how to purchase it. If they offered it at all, most insurance companies had minimum premiums starting at thousands of dollars.

Houston Jewelry honored as “Texas Treasure”

(HOUSTON) - Houston Jewelry was recently honored in Congress as being a true “Texas Treasure.” The Honorable John Abbey Culberson made the statement into the Congressional Record on July 3, in Washington, DC.

Houston Jewelry, a family owned and operated business since 1866, has specialized in fine jewelry since 1953. A true “Texas Treasure,” the history of this jewelry store mirrors that of Texas itself.

Jewelers Mutual named to 2014 Ward’s 50

(NEENAH, Wis.) - Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company has been named to the 2014 list of Ward’s 50® top performing insurance companies for the fourth consecutive year.
