On The Move

Mack Thomas elected President of SCJA

The South Carolina Jewelers Association (SCJA) is proud to announce the election of Mack Thomas as President. The announcement was made at the association’s annual meeting in Myrtle Beach.

Thomas is a third generation jeweler of Infinger’s Jewelry in Walterboro, SC. He grew up in the jewelry business and was named after his grandfather who started the business. When his grandfather died at the young age of thirty-nine, his grandmother was left to run the business and raise two daughters. At the age of ten, Mack began working in the store changing batteries and bands. He continued to take on additional responsibilities, working after school and during summers until he graduated from high school at the age of sixteen. He stepped away from the business to become the manager of a sales office at the age of eighteen. He also worked as an EMT/firefighter for Colleton County Fire Rescue, while continuing to work at the store on his days off. Seven years ago, he returned to the jewelry store. Infinger’s is celebrating its 50th year in business.
