(NEENAH, Wis.) - Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company is involved in two separate, but equally giving programs during the holiday season. One is a nationwide consumer contest while the other is a retailer program. Both partner with Sarah’s Hope® Jewelry to give back to charities serving various local communities.

From October 17 - December 15, 2011, Jewelers Mutual is sponsoring the consumer contest, Hope for the Holidays, which Jewelers Mutual promotes on its Facebook page at facebook.com/JewelersMutual. To enter, participants will share how they give back during the holidays. Winners will receive select jewelry items from the Sarah’s Hope Jewelry collection, plus Jewelers Mutual will make donations ranging from $200 to $1,000 to charities of the winners’ choice.

“Everyone loves the beauty of jewelry and the fun of the holidays, but the holidays are also an important time to reflect on all that we are thankful for and not take all our good fortune for granted,” said Patrick Drummond, Jewelers Mutual’s vice president of Sales and Marketing.

As part of its involvement in Hope for the Holidays, Jewelers Mutual will also support Jewelers For Children - a nonprofit organization that helps children in need - by purchasing sets of Jewelers For Children holiday cards to give to the first 50 people who enter the contest. In addition, if Jewelers Mutual hits a milestone of 12,000 “likes” on their Facebook page by December 15, one random Facebook fan will win jewelry, plus a donation to a charity.

“Being able to work with such a charitable force such as Sarah’s Hope Jewelry is the cherry on top,” said Chad Fulwiler, Jewelers Mutual’s director of Marketing, Personal Lines. Sarah’s Hope Jewelry is a socially responsible jewelry line that helps provide microloans and small business training to women in impoverished situations throughout the world and the USA. “We’re proud to have them help us spread the gift of hope this holiday season.”

From November 1 - December 31, 2011, Jewelers Mutual will also be partnering in the Sarah’s Hope Jewelry fund raiser, Giving Back Locally. Jewelry retailers have the option of purchasing pre-packs of select pieces of Sarah’s Hope Jewelry to display in their store. Customers will be able to choose from a selection of earrings, bracelets and pendants with designs featuring .925 sterling silver and colorful, dynamic proprietary E’Sperene® stones. Retailers will choose a percentage (20 percent is suggested) of each purchase from this collection to assist the local charity of their choice.

Jewelers Mutual, in support of the Giving Back Locally program, will be contributing an additional $1,000 to the winning jeweler’s local charity. The award is given to the jeweler who makes the largest charitable contribution to a local charity based on the sales of Sarah’s Hope Jewelry during the holiday season.

“Everything about these two programs is about giving,” said Drummond. “Jewelers Mutual will be donating nearly $4,000 to various charities when all is said and done, and that’s something we’re very proud to do.”
