IDCA hosts annual Grand Gala in Tucson

The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association (IDCA), a New York-based not-for-profit association, hosted its Grand Gala event during the AGTA Tucson Gem Show in February at the Marriott University Park Hotel.

IDCA honored AR & AR/Cicada Jewelry with the “Colorstone Jewelry Manufacturer” Award. Arsavir Zarokyan, President/Owner of AR & AR accepted the award. Zarokyan stated he was honored to have received the award, and expressed his gratitude to the IDCA board for the same.

IDCA-AprilZarokyan has always been passionate about colorstones. The love affair began when he first started working in the industry as a salesperson in the Grand Bazaar, Turkey, at the age of fourteen. Every piece of jewelry he saw drew him to the business more and more. Today AR & AR stands tall in NY in the 47th Street jewelry district with a jewelry collection of thousands of pieces.

Douglas K. Hucker, CEO of the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) was the keynote speaker and delivered a passionate speech extolling the growing importance of color in our lives and the opportunity this presents to increase the strength of our industry. He also cautioned that the industry must be very honest and open in disclosing the exact details of the stones with which they deal.

The Awards presentation was opened by Ashok Sancheti, Vice President of IDCA and was followed by a dinner and dance.
