GIA’s Career Search Engine is a free online resource and open to anyone

(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) announced, as of November 2nd, its GIA Career Search Engine has more than 300-plus active gem and jewelry industry positions available.

The Career Search Engine service is the largest free online employment database in our industry, according to GIA Career Services Advisor, Anna Hayman. More than 7,000 industry jobs have been posted since it was launched in 2000.

Employers post open job notices on the GIA Career Search Engine and reach people from all over the world interested in a career in the gem and jewelry industry.

The Career Search Engine is free, open to anyone and is continuously updated with new gem and jewelry career listings. The jobs range from entry-level to executive titles and vary widely in description. The available positions span the world, from the U.S., Canada, France and India to Japan, the Cayman Islands and Saudi Arabia.

Available careers include jewelry buyers, appraisers, business development associates, vice presidents, marketing creative directors and more. Some of the companies listing positions include: Damiani, Blue Nile, Inc., Stuller, Inc. and Tiffany & Co.

The Institute’s Jewelry Career Fair recently held in Carlsbad brought in a number of new job options that are also now posted on the Career Search Engine, according to Kathryn Kimmel, GIA vice president and Chief Marketing Officer.

“We had a phenomenal showing of 30 companies who recruited at Career Fair, offering a wide array of career opportunities,” said Kimmel. “For the job seekers who were unable to attend Career Fair, some of those positions offered at the event and more are available for application on the Career Search Engine.”

For job seekers, the GIA Career Search Engine can be found online at www.gia.edu/_webapps/education/jobsearch/index.cfm. Employers interested in listing positions for free on this engine can visit www.gia.edu/educational-programs/careers-in-gems-jewelry/for-employers/index.html.
