W. M. “Mac” House, lost his battle with cancer on December 22, 2009.

House opened his first jewelry store in Baytown, Texas in 1949. In 1953 he opened a store in Paris, Texas and went on to open several other stores in surrounding communities.

He left a lasting impression on all those who were lucky enough to know him, as is evidenced by this brief tribute written by Lisa Hutchison of Adamas Diamond Corporation in Somerset, Kentucky.

One of my customers passed away December 22, 2009 - W.M. “Mac” House, Paris, TX.  He was 89 years old and had been in the jewelry business for 59 years, I believe.

He was an inspiration to me and I know to countless others in the business and in his community. Mac was always a joy to talk to. He was always so considerate and such a gentleman. The business has lost a treasure and a king among men.
