The Alabama Jewelers Association (AJA) and Georgia Jewelers Association (GJA) are joining forces for the third year in a row to host a joint convention. Store owners, staff, sales reps and their families are invited to attend March 25-27, 2011. The weekend event is to be held at Lakepoint State Park Resort on Lake Eufaula in Eufaula, AL. The convention promises to be a mix of both education and sporting activities with emphasis on networking and problem solving.
Located just 2 1⁄2 hours from Atlanta on the Alabama-Georgia border the lake is well known to anglers who travel from all over the country to try their skills. The area offers tours of a wildlife refuge, hiking trails, an 18-hole golf course, and antebellum homes for touring. Eufaula’s quaint downtown area is perfect for the shopping enthusiast or an off-site luncheon on Saturday.
The resort has recently completed a $12 million renovation and offers beautiful lake views from updated rooms featuring flat screen televisions, balconies and contemporary furnishings and surfaces. A short walk to the conference center, restaurant and lounge, guests will have ample opportunities to mingle.
The groups will welcome guests Friday evening and Saturday’s offerings will include education, a golf tournament, historic home visits and a reception followed by dinner. Sunday’s program will included each states annual jewelry design contest.
Speakers and schedules will be announced soon and all interested are encouraged to circle the dates on their calendar and block out the weekend on their blackberries. Each state will welcome sponsorship from industry suppliers. For more details contact AJA at 770-751-8622 and GJA at 770-424-7567.
