(CARLSBAD, Calif.) - GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has recently announced some new developments in their GIA Retailer Support Program, located online at www.retailer.gia.edu. The program provides materials to help jewelers and their staff talk with consumers about the 4Cs and diamond grading reports.
GIA provides signs, a counter display and brochures for stores. And because diamond education happens online as well as at the counter, GIA provides free videos, images, logos and interactive downloads for jewelers to use with their advertising, website and social media efforts.
Notable features of the GIA Retailer Support Program include:
• Downloadable Videos: Retailers can download - free of charge - any of GIA’s 11 videos for use on their own websites. Popular videos include “How to Read a GIA Grading Report,” “How to Choose a Diamond,” and individual videos on each of the 4Cs.
• 4Cs Tab for Facebook: Many companies today forego an individual website and instead use a Facebook page as their main internet presence. By iFraming GIA’s 4Cs diamond information into a Facebook page, retailers encourage engagement and deeper diamond knowledge for their communities and consumers.
• Linkable Graphics & Images: Companies can imbed linkable graphics and images right on their websites including the popular 4Cs Scales & Diagrams and GIA Gem Encyclopedia buttons. Customers are directed to the most up-to-date and accurate information, helping instill consumer confidence in the industry.
• Retailer Lookup: GIA’s 4Cs app for consumers features a Retailer Lookup, which helps prospective customers find a store by entering a zip code or using the geo-locator feature on their iPhone, iPad, or Android device. This feature lets consumers locate stores that offer GIA graded diamonds and/or that have GIA trained staff. Retailers can register on the Retailer Support website.
In addition to online tools, GIA offers retailer support materials to be used in-store, such as counter tools, brochures and posters. For all items offered as part of the program, GIA currently offers free international standard shipping, using promo code FREESHIP2014.
