Georgia Jeweler T.K. Anderson Designs joins fight against cancer

(ATHENS, Ga.) - On August 16, University of Georgia basketball coach Mark Fox and his wife Cindy hosted the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Gala at the University of Georgia. The event works with the American Cancer Society to raise money and awareness about the disease that in some way affects virtually everyone. The proceeds from the event are donated directly to the American Cancer Society and used for research.

Anderson-Octach year Athens, GA-based T.K. Anderson Designs donates a custom piece of jewelry made specifically for the event, and this year’s piece was quite extraordinary. The main feature of the piece is a deep red rhodolite garnet weighing 11.39 carats. It is surrounded by 18-3mm diamonds that are bead set and bright cut, totaling nearly two carats. Both 14k yellow and white-gold are used on the front, while open lattice work on the back is entirely in yellow.

For the past 35 years, T.K. Anderson Designs has been producing gorgeous jewelry in the Classic City for clients all over the state. Father and son duo Keith and Wes Anderson are always excited to contribute to a great cause, and this project was especially fun for them. Wes designs the piece under the watchful eye of his father and then Keith carves, sets, and polishes until it meets his standards. They are both thrilled to have created a design that raised $10,000 for the fight against cancer.
